STATEMENT CURATORIAL

”Regăsindu-ne într-un peisaj social tot mai divizat, simțim o nevoie aproape obsesivă de conexiune. Prima ediție a festivalului Silver Screen caută aceste legături fragile și eluzive printr-o atenție acordată dialogului, fie el între generații, culturi, continente sau viziuni. Important este doar să nu ne grăbim în a oferi o replică.”

Program:

Karatista (2025) r. Alessia Borangic, 23', UNATC (România) Alessia initiates a discussion with her father in an attempt to discover the moment when the separation between them occurred, but along the way, everything becomes uncertain, memories mix and intersect, and no one seems to have an exact answer.

Still Your Child (2025) r. Helena Cominac, 2' (Serbia) A daughter captures the fragile, intimate moment a trans woman comes out to a parent.

Good Luck (2025) r. Karim Karkour, 11' (Egypt) Unemployed father under extreme pressure, torn between returning to his crime life to save his daughter or letting her face her destiny alone.

Restricted (2025) r. Tamer Shawamra, 8' (Palestine) A Palestinian athlete defies the impossible to reach the final qualifiers.

The Scent of Felicity (2025) r. Alaa Nasser, 7' (Egypt) In a joyful Nubian gathering, women come together to make "Al-Reeha," a traditional perfume gifted to the bride as a symbol of love and heritage.

Water For The Birds (2025) r. Sami Saif Sirelkhatim, 18' (Morocco) A lost backpack sets young Amin on a daring journey, testing the limits of familial love and personal sacrifice.

Dezrădăcinare/ Uprooting (2025) r. Patri Preda & Alina Bracaci, 7', UNATC (România) In the process of reconstructing the memory of her mother, a young woman relives the emotional ravine between them, originating in childhood.
